Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith

Saturday 6th April 2019 7.30pm

Jimmy and Sid are just great and we love them! We've travelled to see them many times so we're delighted to welcome them to the Cowshed for what will be a great night of music and storytelling.

‘Making common cause between antique songs and present circumstances is one of the grails of modern folk, one this young duo pull off impressively...Rousing stuff.’
The Observer

"Observations about modern life blend seamlessly with traditional material, delivered with rare poise and delicate musicianship". ★★★★ Songlines

‘Determinedly forthright singing and empathetic arrangements give a compelling intensity and freshness…their second album, deserves to propel them substantially further into public consciousness.’★★★★★ fRoots

161 ‘Exhilaratingly diverse and full of impeccably crafted and beautifully realised songs.’
Folk Radio UK.

Their music is both hard-hitting and uplifting with songs reflecting on the modern world sitting alongside unearthed gems from the British and Irish folk tradition, delivered with powerful harmony singing and sensitive musical arrangements. Their storytelling gets to the heart of life in Britain today. with a common thread of political struggle, resistance, and justice (as well as the occasional love song).
